In class with professor Cripps, when he was explaining the Audio playground assignment he told us that the podcast had to be more than just hitting record and having audio from someplace you know. I knew that I would have to be more creative with this assignment so I thought, “my sister’s basketball game would be perfect!”
My podcast that I have recorded for the Audio playground 1 is some audio that I had captured from my little sister’s basketball game. For some details about my sisters’ team, they are currently undefeated for travel and recreation basketball. They have a team made of eight girls. My sister gets an average of 10 points a game. When my sister is not on the court she is doing behind the scenes practice in our driveway, or she is just running on the treadmill to sweat, the athleticism is in her blood. She has a love and passion for the sport basketball, and that is why I wanted to record audio of her games. Her love for the sport makes me love it as well.
While we were in the car on the way to her game, I had a conversation with her. I told her if she scored twenty points and two of those points were free throws that I would give her twenty dollars. By two minutes in she had already scored 4 points and was already getting foul shots. By half time she was halfway to the deal, but had the hard part over (the free throws). Now, just because the twenty dollars was a whole set up for the podcast recording, I am so glad that she was able to meet the goals that I had set because you should have seen the smile on her face when I handed her that twenty dollar bill.
