1.) If I were to create my own definition of a soundscape, I would say that is capturing the sound of a place that you know very well. There are a lot of sounds that are happening around you that you can just be completely unaware of. To distinguish a sound scape from just a sound and and landscape is simple. It isn’t just ‘a’ sound. There are so many different sounds that happen around you in one certain area. For the landscape aspect, the audio would be taken from a certain place, maybe even your favorite place. Which is why it is called a Soundscape, because it all the collective sounds in one place/landscape.

2.) The way that Guzi describes a soundmark is, “The things that make the soundscape of a place different from any other place in the world.” Which if I were to re-explain that I would relate it to the word ‘landmark’. It is the things that you hear that are important to you while you are at a place. For example, my favorite soundmarks would be if I was at my little sisters basketball game I would hear the buzzer, screeching sneakers, whistles, the ball dribbling, and the crowd roaring.
