- There were a lot of things that ended up being forgotten and not asked. I feel when I am re-listening to my podcast I often think to myself, “Oh I should have asked this, it would have made it so much more interesting and the conversation would have had a better flow!” or “Dang I could have made it more interesting if I worded it differently, I would have been able to branch off of that in so many ways!” One other thing that I feel as though I could have worked on was not being as awkward. I have a hard time having conversations with people I have never talked to before, so it was quite hard to keep the conversation flowing and as natural as possible. I also wished that I had come up with a script prior to the interview so that I was more prepared. I would often forget where I was going with a question, would lose my train of thought, and/or lose focus because I was too busy trying to keep it as not awkward as possible! But I think these three things made the podcast more focused. It adds a whole lot of personality to the episode and shows raw conversation instead of scripted fake things just for the internets sake!
- There are usually two reasons to why people create a podcast. They either do it for their own entertainment or for the audiences entertainment. So, when creating the podcast, you need to take into consideration, “Well what will please the audience and listeners that are listening to this?” When being on the media, you need to be very cautious of the way things are said and/or done. You also need to make sure that you are being entertaining, whether that is cracking jokes every once and a while or adding sound effects to the audio for dramatic effect. You have to keep the listener captivated into the audio so that they want to continue listening. In smaller words, the audience that you bring can make or break the podcast, and so can you. Every move that you make in the audio, you need to have the thought of “the audience” in the back of your mind. I think that in my first podcast I did not take this into account. I think that there could have been more potential if I had cracked a few jokes here and there to make the podcast more interesting an light hearted, but I will take this information and apply it to my next podcast and make the next one even better than this one! We learn from our mistakes, no biggie!
